Living in My Aquarium
Richard Spuler
Living in my aquarium is like
living in Vegas on huge doses of Xanax.
There's perpetual movement,
yet it's perpetually placid.
I know this through careful
observation, examination, and speculation,
something that my fish rarely do,
but not as rarely as the people in Vegas.
Manna (fish food) falls from the heavens.
It's a boring but a stable diet.
There's no shortage of exercise,
whatever that might be.
There's this one guy out there
just itching to get in here.
What can I say? He's just too big.
Besides, he has his own container.
